Dog Registration & Control Authority is responsible for microchipping, registering and control of dogs. Governed by the Dogs Registration & Control Act, 2006.

Pursuant to the Dog Registration and Control Act of 2006, all dogs over the age of six months must be micro-chipped and registered. All dogs must be on their owner’s property or under their direct control at all times.
Any dog running at large may be seized and impounded by a Dog Control Officer. To date there is no government owned dog pound but all dogs that a impounded by Dog Control Officers are held at the Humane Society in Bethesda.
After a holding period of 7 days, impounded dogs becomes available for ADOPTION.

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday  – 10am to 5pm
Tuesday – 9am to 5pm
Sunday – Closed.
