It’s up to us to stop it from leaking into our environment

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda will be relaunching the Plastic Waste Free Island Project on July 4th, 2022. This resumption will focus on the collection of bottles that participants have been storing since the end in 2021.

Participants in the pilot phase are asked to continue using their voucher booklets. New participants will be awarded new voucher booklets to collect their reward.

It is important to note that for payment to be made on the return of soda and water bottles with code origin. Bottles should be presented clean with NO caps, be transparent and not dirty or
damaged nor containing any liquid.

Plastic pollution is having a colossal impact on our ecosystems, economies and our ocean both locally and worldwide.

The Ministry apologises for the delay in restarting the project and wishes to thank the public for their patience. Nevertheless, the Ministry looks forward to continued collaboration with the general public in green initiatives aimed at strengthening our environmental sustainability thus
contributing to our overall health.
