Amplifying Small Voices on the Global Stage: Reflections from WHA78 and the Pandemic Agreement

As the world navigates a period of growing regional and international health challenges that are undoubtedly becoming more complicated due to shifts in geopolitics, I am honored to lead our team to the World Health Assembly 78 (WHA78) as we ensure that our small but significant voices are heard and acknowledged.
We have joined the international community in adopting the Pandemic Agreement, which will ensure greater access to life-saving items during periods of restricted exports and other global challenges—an accomplishment that will benefit our small islands and other developing countries.
The future is filled with great uncertainty, but by the end of WHA78, we should have clear decisions that will enable us to navigate these challenges more effectively.
Special thanks to Dr. Kamaria Decastro -Chief Medical Officer for all the hard work and technical support in delivering the varying beneficial outcomes that support our local and unique contexts.
