Permanent Secretary of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Mr. Colin O’Keiffe, Permanent Secretary of Social and Urban Transformation, Ms Sarah Stuart, Director of Statistics Mr. Statchel Edwards and the Director of Social Policy and Research, Mrs Almira Henry
representing Antigua and Barbuda at an OECS led High Level Forum, which addresses matters concerning an Enhanced Country Poverty Assessment (eCAP) initiative.
eCAP is a multidimensional evidence-based poverty assessment program involving the OECS member countries.
The eCAP initiative emphasizes local capacity building, GIS-enabled poverty mapping, anonymized data collection and strong stakeholder consultation.
The goal is to inform policy toward SDG 1 (Elimination of Poverty) by capturing deprivation in: education, health, employment, housing and other dimensions and ensuring social protection services are accessible to the vulnerable. One expected result of eCAP is the creation of a regional model for managing poverty.
