Antigua and Barbuda Signs Agreement with OAS to Strengthen Climate Resilience and Empower Communities

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda, through the Department of Environment under the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, together with the Ministry of Social Transformation, Human Resource Development, and the Blue Economy, has signed a Program Execution Agreement with the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (GS/OAS).

The agreement establishes the implementation of a new initiative titled “Empowering Women and Underserved Communities through Solar Technology and Climate-Resilient Housing Training in Antigua and Barbuda.” This initiative is supported by a US$125,000 contribution from the OAS Development Cooperation Fund (DCF) and aims to enhance climate resilience, provide practical skills, and empower local communities.
