Earth Day Clean Up

Press Release

Anjo Wholesale Leads Collaborative Earth Day Cleanup & National Call to Action

For over a century, Anjo Wholesale Distributors has been part of the fabric of Antigua and Barbuda. Today, that legacy goes beyond business it is about responsibility, stewardship, and protecting the very environment that sustains us all.

As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, Anjo Wholesale, alongside key partners including Antigua Cruise Port, West Indies Oil Company, Flow, The University of the West Indies, Good Humans 268 Inc., and the National Solid Waste Management Authority, will once again take the lead in a nationwide push toward cleaner, healthier nation.

This year’s initiative will focus on the Runaway Beach and the surrounding Dickenson Bay area. While cleanup efforts continue year after year, the reality remains sobering: waste continues to return. Improper disposal, roadside dumping, and pollution of waterways threaten not only our marine ecosystems, but also the very image of our island as a world-class destination.

This initiative is not just about cleaning to clean up next week, it is about changing behavior.

“Our goal is simple but powerful,” says Germaine Serieux, Commercial & Marketing Manager. “We want to inspire a shift in mindset. A cleaner Antigua and Barbuda is not the responsibility of a few it is the responsibility of all. We must move from awareness to action.”

Anjo Wholesale is also issuing a direct call to the wider business community: Join us. Step forward. Take ownership. This must become a national movement not a one-day effort. The future of our island depends on collective action, consistent involvement, and shared accountability.

On Saturday, April 18th, 2026, volunteers will gather at Runaway Beach (Mystic Beach Bar) for a large-scale litter collection and community cleanup exercise. The event begins at 6:00am and concludes at 10:00am.

All residents, visitors, and corporate partners are encouraged to participate and make a meaningful impact. Together, we can protect our coastlines, preserve our environment, and redefine what it means to take pride in our island.

Because at the end of the day this is not just about cleaning a beach. It is about protecting our home. We look forward to the support and a successful day.
