Minister of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, Michael Joseph, welcomed De-Jane Gibbons, UNFPA Liaison Specialist for Barbados and the OECS, during a courtesy call ahead of a two-day workshop on the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Sexual and Reproductive Health in Crisis Situations.

 

The workshop, being conducted by UNFPA in collaboration with the Ministry will assess Antigua and Barbuda’s readiness to implement MISP during humanitarian emergencies and develop a country-specific action plan to strengthen preparedness and coordination. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to ensure the continuity of essential sexual and reproductive health services during emergencies.

 

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kamaria DeCastro, and Senior Medical Officer, Dr. Lori-ann Johnson were also in attendance.
